1. About these terms

These terms apply when you book or use lessons from Claudia Edwards, trading as Cloudia Tutoring ("we", "us"). By requesting a lesson or buying a pack, you agree to them. Please read them with our Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice.

"You" means the person booking the lessons: a student aged 18 or over, or a parent or guardian booking for a student under 18. "The student" means the person who receives the lessons.

2. Our services

We provide one-to-one live online tutoring, by video call with a shared whiteboard, in English (Language and Literature), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography and Italian, from KS2 up to GCSE. Other subjects or levels may be offered on request, sometimes through other tutors, and we'll tell you before you book.

We'll provide the services with reasonable care and skill. We can't guarantee any exam result or grade, because results depend on many things we don't control.

3. Who can book

  • If the student is under 18, we require a parent or guardian's contact details. A parent or guardian may create the account, book and pay for the student.
  • You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. The free intro call

The intro call (15 to 20 minutes) is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

5. Booking a lesson

When you request a lesson, we'll confirm it by email once Claudia has agreed the time. A lesson is only booked when we confirm it. You'll be able to see the status of your lessons in your account.

6. Prices and payment

  • A single lesson costs £40 per hour.
  • A 10-hour pack costs £360 (£36 per hour), paid upfront.
  • All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP).
  • You can pay by bank transfer, Revolut or PayPal; we'll send you the details after your intro call. We don't take card details on this website.
  • We may change our prices in future. A change won't affect lessons or packs you have already paid for.

7. Packs and validity

  • A pack gives you 10 one-hour lessons.
  • Pack hours are valid for 5 months from the date they are added, and the expiry date is shown in your account. Hours not used by the expiry date lapse and are not refundable.
  • Packs are for the named student and can't be transferred or exchanged for cash, except where these terms or the law say otherwise.
  • Hours aren't tied to one subject.

8. Cancelling, moving and missed lessons

  • With at least 24 hours' notice before the start time, you can cancel or move a lesson for free. You can do this in your account, using the link in your emails, or by messaging Claudia.
  • With less than 24 hours' notice, or if the lesson is missed, the lesson will usually count as taken: £40 for a single lesson, or one hour from your pack. Claudia may, at her discretion, waive this in an emergency.
  • If Claudia cancels or moves a lesson, we'll rearrange it at no cost. If we can't agree a new time, you won't be charged, or the hour will go back into your pack, as the case may be.
  • If a lesson can't take place because of technical problems on our side, we'll rearrange it at no cost.

9. Lessons online

  • You'll need a computer, a stable internet connection, a camera and a microphone.
  • Please be on time. If you're late, the lesson will normally still finish at its planned time.
  • We don't record lessons unless everyone has agreed in advance.
  • Parents and guardians are welcome to be nearby during lessons with younger students.
  • Please be respectful. We may end a lesson if behaviour makes it unsafe or impossible to teach.

10. Your right to cancel (consumer rights)

If you're a consumer, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel a contract made online within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day the contract is made (for example, when you request and pay for a pack).

  • To cancel, tell us clearly (for example by email to hello@cloudiatutoring.com). You can use any wording; there is no need to use a special form.
  • If you'd like lessons to start within the 14 days, we'll ask you to tell us so. If you then cancel, you'll pay for the lessons already provided (a proportionate amount) and we'll refund the rest within 14 days of getting your cancellation.
  • If we have fully provided the services within the 14 days, with your agreement, you lose the right to cancel.
  • This doesn't affect your other legal rights.

After the 14 days, unused hours are not refunded, unless Claudia is unable to provide the lessons, in which case you will receive a pro-rata refund.

11. Your account

  • Keep your password private, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • We recommend switching on two-step verification (2FA) in your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account if these terms are broken or if we reasonably think it's being misused.

12. Using the website and our materials

  • Please use the site for its intended purpose only. Don't try to break, overload or scrape it.
  • Lesson materials, whiteboard content and anything we create remain ours (or our licensors'). You can use them for the student's own learning, but please don't copy, share publicly or sell them.

13. Reviews

We may invite you to review us on Trustpilot. We invite everyone who is eligible, we never offer discounts, rewards or favours in exchange for reviews, and we hope you'll be honest. Your review is yours to write.

14. Our responsibility to you

  • Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
  • If we don't provide the services with reasonable care and skill, you have legal remedies, including a repeat performance or a price reduction.
  • We're not responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses, since our services are for personal use.
  • We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control (for example illness, power or internet failures). If that happens, we'll let you know and rearrange lessons.

15. Privacy

How we use your data is explained in our Privacy Notice.

16. Complaints

If you're unhappy, please tell us at hello@cloudiatutoring.com and we'll try to put things right quickly.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll show the date at the top and tell you of any important change. The terms in force when you book will apply to that booking.

18. General

  • These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the lessons.
  • If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • Only you and we have rights under this agreement.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
